Importance of Alexa Traffic Rank

There is a ever ending debate about whether alexa statistics contribute to the search engine rankings of a website, Is their any truth to this or not. Well from my point of view…

Alexa ranks are subjected to alexa tool bars data which means that only user who use alexa tool bar alexa statistics are subjected to that data only.

Although Google is associated with alexa which means that the alexa data is being used by google, but to what extent and does it contribute to the search engine ranking algo is a big question.

The fact is that an alexa rank is nothing mere than a fancy term used to glorify a website. Although it is great data and gives you insight into a lot of real time information. But for SEO i personally think its does not contribute to the rankings on the search engines.

The punch line is that its good data but doesnot effect the seo industry in any way.
