SEO Tips for Beginners

For all budding SEO’s who have just begin their journey in the world of internet marketing, here are some starting tips on SEO so that you move forward in the right direction. For being a professional SEO before i take your further in understanding the basic, I would like to give away my basic philosophy and approach to seo.

For being a Good SEO the attributes one should attach to himself are:

1. Enough patience to see his way through the various search engine updates.
2. Don’t fall for spam techniques as a resort to quick rankings
3. There is only one way to high search engine rankings, The right way to SEO !

Here are some basic tips for SEO:

1. Title Tag: Ensure that you have your keywords in the title, dont repeat them, and dont make them look spam.
2. Meta Description: Repeat your keywords in the description at least 2-3 time to give them weight age.
3. Meta Keywords: Although are not in use by search engine, but why take a chance, use them and keep them short and precise.

On Page SEO Tip

1. H1 Header Tag: Ensure that your design supports that your H1 tag is the first thing after body, use keywords and try not to repeat them. Follow the h1 tag with a paragraph with keywords sprinkled evenly.
2. H2 Header Tag: Use 2 h2 header tags each followed by a paragraph.
3. H3, H4, H5 Tags: You can use these tags also as appropriate for the content.
4. Keyword Density: Keep the keyword density of your page between 5%- 15%
5. Image Alt Tag: Make sure that all images have an Alt tag and don’t over use the keywords to make them look like spam.
6. Link Structure: Use your keywords in anchor texts of the links on page.
