I know that its a very nasty thing to say, but the winds seem to be blowing in this direction only. With the current Google PR update, which is now know as Grey PR update, signifies that Google seem to be winding up the famous Google PR, or if not winding up it is hit the websites big time.

Possible reasons i can think of:

  • A lot of business happens purely on the PR of a web page, for instance if you have a PR7 website you can make money, its as simple as that. but i think Google has decided that you don’t.
  • A lot of back linking happens purely based on PR than based on content relevancy, and Google wants to diluteĀ  this as well.

In a nut shell Google is trying to move the attention away from PR of a web page to content. So i Think Google Page Rank is comming to an end.

Maybe Google is trying to move the attention away from PR like You say, but Google PageRank is part of the Google essence since the very first beginning.

As usually happens, Google algorithm updates can cause some winds, but that’s all.
