One fine day you get up to find out that your website exsists no more in google serps, Penalised by Google. Its the nightmare for those you have a presence on the internet not just for sake of it, but their income and business depends on it. I am writing this article out of my own experience and thought it could be helpful for those who are going through it.
26th Feb 2007 my website was out of serps, I virtually witnessed it move out of serps. I thought it was probably an hour thing, and things will get back to shape in an hours or so. My heart was pounding so fast that i could hear a 1000 horses gallop.
And Yes the Google God had casted his spell. The website was penalised by Google and it was out Google serps.
This was the parent website of my company and almost 7 years of hard work had gone in to get this website where it stood now. So only pne who goes through it can understand what i was going through.
I did a quick check on my website to see what could have gone wrong.
- Checked my htaccess
- my robot.txt file
- went again and again through the Google webmaster guidelines to see if we were violating anything
I found out that there were a few things where my competitors could have hit us and probably reported spam to Google, although great care had been taken into following carving a white hat strategy that works.
I knew from within that there was nothing unethical ot Black hat SEO that we had done to deserve the wrath of Google. But here we were de-indexed from Google.
All i knew was that I had to get back with all had to find my way back into Google.
I ensured that i have my facts straight. I closed all loop holes on the website, which would put the things in the grey area.
- uploaded the google xml sitemap for faster indexing
- reviewed my website as per google guidelines.
- checked and improvised on htaccsess and robot.txt
- checked on all crawling issues.
And then wrote gave Google the reinclusion request on the 28th Feb 2007 from Google webmasters Tool
The email was carved with everything i wished to say and what could have probably been the cause for deindexing from Google. Requesting them to evaluate my website and that it totally complies to their guidelines. I also added to it that incase their is anything they feel that i have missed out we are willing to take it up.
Nothing happened for another day. I was only thinking what if this continues for a month or say 6 months. I read through various blogs and forums where people had been de indexed and had virtually fainted, and had been waiting for 8 months for reinclusions.
So i streched myself and started looking at things from the worst point of view with the same will that what ever it takes, i have to bring it back.
1st march 2007
Some more findings came to my notice which also i addressed to Google with another reinclusion request in addtion to what i had said earlier and asked for a fair evaluation.
2nd march went by with that fact sinking in that you are penalised by Google and it can take any amount of time to get back.
3rd March; We were Back. It was like Gods listens to those who are on the right path.
So guys we were out and back in 5 days flat with all rankings restored, just the way it was and even better.
If you wish to share or need to seek advise on Google Reinclusion please post and i will be more than willing to help you out on this. As i have been through it and i know how it feels.
